CAS Applied Data Science

The Mathematical Institute and Science IT Support are offering a Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) program in Applied Data Science (ADS).

Graduation is possible within one or two years. The CAS provides 12 ECTS credit points achieved in 18 days of presence with a total workload about 340 hours.

It is structured in five modules which are offered in blocks; August/September, January/February and June respectively.

2019/20 is full - Registration for 20/21 opens in December.

6'440 CHF (3'760 CHF for employees and enrolled students of the University of Bern). A further reduction may apply for students of the University of Bern.

The fee includes the accommodation costs for the Bern Winter School on Machine Learning (module 3).

Rooms and lecturers to be confirmed. All courses take place in walking distance from the Bern railway station. The exception is Module 3 which happens in the ski resort Mürren two train hours from Bern city.

For Module 5, 10 electives, peer knowledge transfer groups (two half days) and peer consulting (one day) are also needed. Electives are continually published under Trainings and Workshops. Two peer transfers and one oral exam are also needed for Module 5.
