Numerical Analysis

Research

The research of our group is in the area of applied mathematics, with a particular focus on the development, analysis and computational implementation of numerical methods for the solution of linear and nonlinear (partial) differential equations. Current topics of interest include:

  • finite element methods and discontinuous Galerkin schemes
  • adaptive Newton-Galerkin methods for nonlinear problems
  • Galerkin time stepping schemes, with applications to blow-up problems
  • hp-type finite element methodology, including hp-adaptivity
